DUBAI, Nov 4 (AFP) - Radical Islamists used the Internet Thursday to vent their anger at US President George W. Bush's re-election, with one accusing the American people of choosing "the logic of war".
"The logic of war has won over the Americans, who chose Bush," said one remark on an Islamist website, overflowing with passionate reactions to the Republican victory.
"It's time to wake people from their slumber ... to remind them that Bush's victory presages new wars," said the surfer.
The victory of "Bush, the despicable, is good, because it opens the way to Jihad (Holy War) in several Arab countries where despotic (regimes) will be, Godwilling, removed," wrote another, called Abderrahman.
Bush's "war on terror", proclaimed following the September 11, 2001 attacks on the United States and blamed on Osama bin Laden's Al-Qaeda network, has sought to hunt down Islamist militants around the world.
Bin Laden himself appeared in a video released only four days before Tuesday's elections, warning the American people that their security was in their own hands rather than those of Bush, his Democrat opponent John Kerry or even Al-Qaeda.
"Your security is in your hands. Any state that does not attack our security automatically ensures its own security," Bin Laden said.
"In his message, Bin Laden told American voters to exert pressure on the next president to change his Middle Eastern policies," said Egyptian lawyer Muntassar al-Zayat, known for defending Islamists.
Impassioned Islamist surfers also began to focus attention on the American people for their responsibility in the democratic process.
"The American people approve the actions of this pig," said one.
"They want war and we are ready," said another, "Muslims living over there (in the United States) must leave quickly."
"Enough of the defeatists' lie that there are innocent people in America," wrote another.
"The United States is beating the war drums. This will be World War Three. So, get ready for war," said another, signing himself Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, the Jordanian-born militant believed to be Al-Qaeda's chief operative in Iraq.
