VAN - 300 lawyers have applied to be intervenors in a case, publicly known as the Semdinli case.
A lawsuit was filed by a prosecutor in eastern city of Van after several incidents occurred in Semdinli town of southeastern city of Hakkari.
On November 9th, 2005, a hand grenade was hurled on a bookstore, that belongs to Seferi Yilmaz, in Semdinli. Two people died in the incidents which occurred after this bombing. Two non-commissioned officers Ali Kaya and Ozcan Ildeniz, and confessor Veysel Ates were arrested after the incidents.
Van Criminal Court filed a lawsuit regarding these incidents. The hearing will begin on May 4th.
Speaking to reporters, one of the intervenor lawyers Murat Timur said that 330 lawyers will join the May 4th hearing as intervenors, representing Seferi Yilmaz.
''Hearings should be open to public because it closely concerns them,'' he added.
