PSV want Koeman
PSV have made an approach to bring Ronald Koeman back to the club to spearhead their Champions League bid after the imminent departure of Guus Hiddink.
Koeman currently coaches Portuguese top flight side Benfica, but according to A Bola newspaper Tuesday the Dutch champions expect Koeman to get in touch with an answer early next week.
"We're waiting to hear (from Koeman) between now and Monday or Tuesday next week," a PSV club official is reported to have told the newspaper.
Koeman's agent however has poured water on the claims.
"It's rumours and nothing else. He still has a year left on his contract with Benfica," said Gerrit Lagenddijk.
With Hiddink soon leaving the 19-time Dutch champions for his new job with the Russian national side - after his World Cup coaching spell with Australia - Koeman is seen as a natural replacement.
Koeman's stock has rocketed this season having taken Benfica to the quarter-final stages of the Champions League, where they were eliminated 2-0 by Barcelona.
Having taken Benfica so far in Europe's premier club competition - which he won in 1992 having scored the game-winning free kick for Barcelona - Koeman could be tempted by PSV's offer, especially as Benfica are not yet assured of playing in the Champions League next season.
With only one match left to play, the Lisbon-based side are currently third in the league 11 points behind champions FC Porto.
Benfica are only two points behind city rivals Sporting Lisbon ahead of the final round of matches this weekend.
