ANKARA - UN Assistant Secretary-General and UNICEF Deputy Executive Director Kul Chandra Gautam arrived in Turkish capital of Ankara on Tuesday.
Holding a press conference at Ankara`s Esenboga Airport, Gautam said that UN attached great importance to Turkey, and UNICEF and Turkey had been working together since 1951.
Gautam indicated that they were monitoring studies regarding children in Turkey, noting that he aimed to re-observe those studies during his stay in the country.
Gautam will hold talks in Ankara, Istanbul and eastern city of Van.
