KAYSERI - ''Turks have been together with Iraqis throughout the history. PKK terrorist organization is a seed of discord which prevents the solidarity between Kurds and Turks in Iraq,'' Turkish Foreign Minister Abdullah Gul told reporters on Sunday.
Upon questions about the decision of Iraqi government to close PKK offices and ban its activities in Iraq, Gul said, ''this issue is not only Turkey's, but also Iraq's problem.''
''A country should be uneasy about allowing activities of terrorists (in its own lands) who attack its neighbors. Iraqi government is uneasy. As there are very big problems currently in Iraq, Iraqi government cannot take further measures. However, Iraq has many things to do about this issue. It should firstly show its determination,'' Gul noted.
Noting that statements of Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki and Iraqi Deputy President Tariq al-Hashimi were pleasing, Gul recalled that Iraqi President Jalal Talabani has made similar statements as well.
Gul said, ''the cooperation between Turkey, Iraq and the United States is very important. New developments are in question especially after Turkey showed its determination about this issue. Furthermore, Turkey has the facilities and forces to pursue fight against terrorism. Turkey does not hand this issue over other countries. However, international, regional and neighborhood relations are very important in this fight.''
Upon a question, Gul said that administrators in the north of Iraq have big responsibilities in fight against PKK, adding that their cooperation with Turkey is for their interest.
Addressing to the leaders in the north of Iraq, Gul wanted them not to allow PKK to deteriorate the cooperation and friendship between Turkey and Iraq.

-UN RESOLUTION ON LEBANON-

Gul welcomed the resolution of UN Security Council on cease-fire regarding Lebanon.
Noting that adoption of this resolution is pleasing, Gul said that it is important that the resolution was approved unanimously.
He added that the resolution delayed because of different views.
Gul said that UN has forces in Lebanon since 1978, but it is not enough in number to protect peace there. He added that the number will be increased to 15.000, and new soldiers from new countries will be sent to the region.
Gul said that as long as conditions are appropriate, Turkey has always served world peace.
