BAGHDAD - The US military announced the deaths of three soldiers in Iraq, two of whom lost their lives on Thursday.

One soldier was when his vehicle was struck by a roadside bomb south of Baghdad and another was killed when his unit was attacked by small-arms fire southeast of the capital, the military said.

The third soldier died on Wednesday from wounds received from "enemy fire" the same day near the northern city of Mosul, the military said in a separate statement.

The latest fatalities brought the US military's losses in Iraq since the March 2003 invasion to 2,673, according to an AFP count based on Pentagon figures.
