ISTANBUL - President of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) Mehmet Ali Talat harshly criticized Thursday a Greek Cypriot deal with Lebanon and Egypt to outline undersea borders for future oil and natural gas prospection in the Mediterranean.

"There is not a legal administration, a legal government in Cyprus," Talat told reporters, referring to the Greek Cypriot administration on the southern part of the island.

"The Greek Cypriot administration does not represent the whole island. Therefore, an illegal government holding oil talks with neighboring countries and sealing agreements is totally unacceptable."
