Turkish - Ukrainian Joint Tourism Commission Meeting In Antalya

ANTALYA - Turkish Culture & Tourism Minister Atilla Koc has asked Ukraine to facilitate visa procedures for Turkish tourists.

Making a keynote speech in the third meeting of the Turkish-Ukrainian Joint Tourism Commission in Belek town of Mediterranaen city of Antalya, Koc noted that 293,000 Ukrainian tourists visited Turkey in 2004.

"This number was 380,000 in 2005 and 485,000 in 2006," Koc stated.

Koc added that catamaran cruises will be launched between Turkish northern city of Sinop and Yalta, Ukraine.

On the other hand, Ukrainian Minister of Culture & Tourism Yuriy Bohutskyy underlined importance of creating an atmosphere of peace in the Black Sea, and announced that Ukraine will open an honorary consulate in Antalya in April.

After the meeting, the two ministers signed a cooperation protocol.
