Istanbul Introduced In "Bon Appetit" Magazine

ANKARA - Bon Appetit, a popular American food and entertainment magazine, introduced Istanbul in its May issue with an article titled "Istanbul Inside Out".

"In the restaurants and markets of this romantic Turkish city, East meets West and ancient meets modern," stresses the 17 page-article written by Lee Smith.

The article states that Istanbul, which is a fascinating city, offers visitors the chance to taste flavour of the whole geography thanks to its unique spice sellers, palace restaurants and local taverns.

Underscoring Turkey`s position as a crossing point that connects Asia to Europe as well, the article indicates that the Greek, Persian and Arabic influence on the city`s cuisine reflects the imperial history of Istanbul.
