BRUSSELS - Willing to get more share from 7th Framework Program of the EU and other associate countries (with a budget of 50.5 billion euro), Turkey maintains studies under the leadership of The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TUBITAK), sources said on Thursday.
Turkish Research and Business Organisations` Public-Private Partnership (TuR&Bo-ppp) office in Brussels briefed Turkish and European industry and university representatives and European Commission executives on industry-academy collaboration project support.
Delivering a speech at the opening, TuR&Bo-ppp Director Mehmet Gokgoz gave information about Turkey`s recent Search and Development (Ar-Ge) steps, underscoring that collaboration between industry and academy has critical important in producing information.
EU Commission Research Directorate General Project Administrator Graham Wilkie said projects established under industry-academy partnership were open to international cooperation. "Actual 38.5 million euro budget may be raised in the next term," he noted.
Wilkie pointed out that exchange of information and personnel between industry and academy was the indispensable condition for a long term cooperation.
10 universities, and several participants from companies and NGOs from Turkey attended the meeting.
