MARMARIS - The European Initiative (including representatives from NGOs, chambers and associations) in order to support Izmir`s candidacy to host EXPO 2015 led by the Center for Studies on Turkey (TAM) drew a road map.
Necil Nedimoglu, Director of International Promotion Office in Turkish Foreign Ministry, was informed on targets and decisions that have been made by the European Initiative for Izmir EXPO 2015 in a meeting in Marmaris resort town of southwestern city of Mugla.
Nedimoglu said that EXPO, a significant project, should be carried out with NGOs, stating that they fully supported it.
"If EXPO project becomes successful, it will yield great gains not only for Izmir but also for the Aegean Region as well as Turkey," Nedimoglu stressed.
The meeting focused on conducting a comprehensive promotion campaign in Germany, designing a multilingual web site, contacting with national and international consultants and holding a meeting with EXPO experts from Hannover.
