ISTANBUL - Turkish students from the Izmir private "Fatih High School" were ranked 4th at the "58th INTEL-ISEF International Science and Engineering Fair" held in USA, which is widely recognised as the "Olympics" of science.
Turkish students Gurcan Gurses (17) and Alper Yanilmaz (16) participated in the competition with their project on "Manufacturing a Ceramic Filter that Is Durable and Ecologic for Filtering Molten Metals", a statement from the high school said.
Gurses and Gurcan were presented with "Grand Award" at the competition during which nearly 1500 projects from 60 countries competed.
The students will also represent Turkey at the "15th International Environment Project Olympics" to be held in Istanbul from June 10th to 13th.
