Turkey Promises To Plant 200 Million Trees

ANKARA - Achim Steiner, United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) executive director sent a letter of thanks to Turkey`s Ministry of Environment and Forestry for its commitment to plant 200 million trees annually.

According to the statement by the Ministry, Turkey partakes in UNEP`s "Plant for the Planet: one billion tree" campaign by promising to plant 200 million trees annually.

It is said that Steiner stated UNEP`s support for the Ministry in their efforts for tree planting in the letter as well.
