Guler: We Signed A Memorandum Of Understanding To Carry Turkmen Gas To Europe Via Turkey
ORDU - "We signed a memorandum of understanding with Iran to transport Turkmen gas to Turkey via Iran and carry it to Europe over Turkey," Turkish Energy and Natural Resources Minister Hilmi Guler said Sunday.
"We have been carrying out a number of important projects to ensure energy supply safety such as Baku-Ceyhan, Shah Sea and the pipeline to Greece. And we have been holding talks regarding Nabucco Project to transport Iranian natural gas to the European Union countries," Guler told reporters in the Black Sea city of Ordu.
"Our talks with Iran have yielded result and we signed a memorandum of understanding with Iranian Oil Minister Kazem Vaziri-Hamaneh which will allow flow of Turkmen gas to Europe via Turkey and also allow Turkey to operate a number of Iranian natural gas fields," Guler added.
