Prince Of Wales Charles In Konya

KONYA - Prince of Wales Charles and his wife Dutchess of Cornwall Camilla, who are currently in central Anatolian province of Konya, visited Catalhoyuk excavation area on Monday.

Konya Governor Osman Aydin, Metropolitan Mayor Tahir Akyurek as well as British Ambassador in Ankara Nick Baird accompanied Prince Charles and his wife.

British archeology professor Ian Hodder is heading the excavations in the 9,000-year-old neolithic settlement.

Early in the day, Prince Charles and his wife Camilla visited Mevlana Museum and watched performance of whirling dervishes at Mevlana Culture Center.
