Turkish Government Gives Authorization To Turkish Army For A Crossborder Operation

ANKARA - Turkish PM Recep Tayyip Erdogan said on Friday that Turkish Armed Forces was authorized for a military crossborder operation as of November 28th.

PM Erdogan spoke to reporters following his meeting with Hasim Kilic, the Chief Judge of the Constitutional Court.

When asked if the motion for crossborder operation was going to be used, Erdogan said, "as you know we got the motion from the Turkish Parliament on October 17th. Upon this decision, I have sent a letter to the General Staff regarding their requests. On the other hand I received the letter regarding General Staff's request on November 1st. And after that as the cabinet we have taken the decision on November 28th and with the approval of the President, as of now TSK has been authorized for a crosscorder operation."
