FM Babacan's Meeting With Greek FM Dora Bakoyanni
ATHENS - Turkish FM Ali Babacan, who is currently in Greece on a formal visit, had a meeting with his Greek counterpart Theodora Bakoyianni. According to sources, Turkey`s combat with the terrorist organisation PKK was one of the topics that came up during talks and FM Babacan asked support from Bakoyianni on the issue.
FM Babacan brought up the issue of cutting off the resources of terrorist organisation PKK in Europe, it was reported.
Babacan emphasized that though PKK was declared a terrorist organization in Europe, some of its resources were from Europe and said these should be cut.
Babacan said they had info at hand showing the terrorist organisation PKK was active in Greece through some cover organizations and asked Bakoyianni to take necessary steps against these and not allow the terrorist organization to act freely.
Illegal migration and air space violations were also discussed during talks.
Babacan underlined that the "dogfights" that occurred from time time between the jets of two countries was in contrast with the common vision between the two countries.
