Brit Rock Star Marianne Faithfull To Meet Her Fans In Istanbul
ISTANBUL - British rock icon of the 60s Marianne Faithfull will give three concerts in Istanbul.
Faithfull, who met press members in Istanbul on Monday, said she first visited Istanbul five years ago for a jazz festival but she remembers good things about this city.
62-year-old rock singer said she might have been a little bit slow now, but does not think of retirement and can be on stage for ten years more.
The British singer and songwriter, who became a rock legend in 60s and late 70s with her dramatic life story, will sing her unforgettable songs within her "Songs of Innocence & Experience" tour.
Faithfull was in the spotlight in 60s with her turbulent life, films she starred and her famous songs such as, "Broken English", "Working Class Hero" and "Lucy Jordan".
Faithfull made her debut in 1964 with "As Tears Go By", a song written for her by Mick Jagger and Keith Richards. She was also inspired by several other world-famous rock stars such as Brian Jones, Bob Dylan, Burroughs, Ginsberg and David Bowie.
Faithfull will take the stage on March 3rd, 4th and 5th at Babylon music hall in Istanbul.
