PKK Terrorist Arrested In Belgium

BRUSSELS - Belgian Police arrested Mehmet Sahin, a PKK terrorist, after he was detained following a demonstration in Liege city last Friday.

Mehmet Sahin (33) was involved in the killing of dozens between 1992-1997 in Turkey, including 23 security officers who were killed upon an attack on a military post.

Turkish authorities issued seven arrest warrants on Sahin and he was being searched with a red notice globally.

Sahin escaped from Turkey and went to Belgium in 2000 seeking asylum in this country.

Prosecutor in Liege said that Sahin will be extradited to Turkey once official procedures have been completed.

Sahin is being kept at the Lantin prison in Liege.
