Algeria Offers Construction, Infrastructure Opportunities For Turkish Businessmen, Turkish Ambassador

ALGIERS - Turkish Ambassador to Algeria said on Friday that Algeria offered great business opportunities especially in housing construction and infrastructure for Turkish companies.

Following the 15th Foreign Ministers` Meeting of the Mediterranean Forum, attended by Turkish State Minister Mustafa Said Yazicioglu, Ambassador Ahmet Necati Bigali told the A.A that nearly 150 Turkish companies were active in Algeria.

He said trade volume between the two countries was around 4 billion USD which is disadvantageous for Turkey that buys significant amount of natural gas from Algeria.

Bigali said high level state officials of Turkey and Algeria were expected to make mutual state visits in the near future.

Bigali also gave information about the meeting and said that Turkey expressed its objections regarding the Union for the Mediterranean.

He said things were going well after France and EU offered a guarantee to Turkey that it would not be an alternative to the EU.
