Foreign Minister Babacan Attends Meeting On Assistance To Palestine
UNITED NATIONS - Turkish Foreign Minister Ali Babacan on Tuesday expressed Turkey`s readiness to share its experience obtained in problematic regions to contribute to the welfare of Palestine.
Babacan, currently in New York to attend the 63rd session of the UN General Assembly, participated a meeting to assist Palestine.
Addressing the meeting, Babacan said Turkey appreciated endeavors for reforms in Palestine and noted that political solution could only be achieved as long as progress was recorded in economic and social areas.
Babacan said Turkey desires a stable, peaceful and prosperous Palestine.
Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs Spokesman Burak Ozugergin, while commenting on the meeting, said U.N. Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon, U.S. Secretary of State Condeleezza Rice, and executives from Israel and Palestine attended the meeting which was held with the initiatives of Norway.
Turkey was invited to the meeting for its contributions to Palestine.
