Turkish Universities Open Branches Abroad

ANKARA - Ankara University Rector Prof. Cemal Talug said on Tuesday that his university was planning to open branches in Azerbaijan or in a country in the Balkans.

Talug told A.A correspondent that, "Ankara University is eager to get a more influential place in higher education in globalizing world. We want to have branches abroad."

Talug said Middle East Technical University (METU) established a campus in Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) and Istanbul Technical University (ITU) is getting ready to establish a campus there."

"Ankara University plans to open a branch in Azerbaijan or in a country in the Balkans. There are different alternatives. This will be clarified after assessments in authorized boards of the university," he added.
