Erdogan is paying visit to Libya

Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan, accompanied by some ministers, MPs and about 100 businessmen, is in Libya.

Trade is in the forefront of the visit which is the first one that has been paid to this country at Prime Ministerial level in 13 years.

Prime Minister Erdogan held his first official meeting with Libyan Prime Minister al-Baghdadi Ali al-Mahmudi. Following a tete-a-tete meeting in Tripoli, the two statesmen announced later that visas were lifted between the two countries by the next Festival of Sacrifice.

Erdogan met with Libyan leader Muammar al-Qaddafi. The two leaders held a tete-a-tete meeting.

The Turkish Prime Minister later attended the Turkish-Libyan Business Forum.

During the Erdogan visit to Libya, agreements in energy, transportation and foreign trade were signed between the countries.

Premier Erdogan told reporters that Qaddafi will soon visit Turkey.
