18th Turkish World Children’s Festival kicks off
Within the framework of the 18th Turkish World Children’s Festival, organized by the Foundation for the Turkic World Research (TDAV), an opening ceremony featuring a march of children who came from guest countries was held yesterday in Kadikoy district of Istanbul.
The march was attended by children from Kyrgyzstan, Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) and Tatary, as well as Chuvasistan, Ahiska, Eastern Turkistan, Altay, Sakha (Yakutia) Republic, Gagavuz, Iraq, Crimea, Kosovo, Bulgaria, Macedonia, Shor, Iran, Syria, Western Thrace, Balkar, Kumuk, Nogay and Kalmuh Turks.
Speaking at the ceremony, TDAV Chairman Turan Yazgan said that the children attending the festival would provide unity of language, opinions and business in the Turkish world, and ensure that economic resources of the Turkish world are used along with and for Turks in the future.
