International sports court upholds ban on Besiktas
In a regulatory filing to the Istanbul Stock Exchange, the club said the International Court of Arbitration for Sport upheld UEFA ban which followed an inspection of the team’s financial accounts that concluded that Besiktas had violated European regulations on financial fair play.
The arbitration court ruled out participation for the Istanbul side in qualification rounds for the Europa League.
Besiktas placed fourth last season at Spor Toto Super League after the Super Final playoff rounds with 33 points.
