FSA destroys 10 Syrian army helicopters
ISTANBUL - The Free Damascus Brigade, loyal to the Free Syrian Army (FSA), on Wednesday announced that they took under control a military airport in Taftanaz region of the north-western Syrian city of Idlib and destroyed 10 helicopters at the airport.
The helicopters destroyed were involved in the bombing of civilians in Taftanaz and surrounding regions and that led to the death of hundreds of Syrians.
On July 29, troops loyal to the Assad regime destroyed a major mosque in Taftanaz and burned copies of the Holy Koran.
119 Syrians have been killed by Syrian troops in Taftanaz since clashes began on March 15, 2011.
