Turks kidnapped in Lebanon
TRT - Speaking at the reception in Lebanon to mark August 30 Victory and Turkish Armed Forces Day, Ambassador Özyıldız expressed deep concern over Turkish businessman Aydın Tufan Tekin, kidnapped by Lebanon’s Mikdat family and truck driver Abdülmecit Aslan whose kidnappers are unknown, still being held hostage.
He said Turkey was much saddened by two of its citizens being held hostage for two weeks without any reason being expressed and it was even more saddening to see members of a friendly country like Turkey being treated in a hostile way.
Ambassador Özyıldız said initiatives were continuing for the release of two Turkish citizens and said Turkey thanked the Lebanese officials for their efforts to have them freed adding he hoped they would be concluded in the shortest time possible.
