African athletes dominate medals Eurasia Marathon
Kenyan athlete Stephan Chebogut ranked the first in the 34th edition of Intercontinental Istanbul Eurasia Marathon yesterday.
Kenyan athletes won first three ranks in the marathon (42.195 km). Stephan Chebogut came the first with 2:11:05, Kiprotich Yegon was the second with 2:15:35 and Evans Kiplagat came the third with 2:16:43.
The marathon is organized by Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality.
Nearly 13,000 athletes from 88 countries participated in the marathon.
The marathon began on the Asian side of the city, before crossing the Bosphorus Bridge, and passed many of the city’s historic sites including the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia.
