Prime Minister gets a honorary doctorate degree from Recep Tayyip Erdogan University
Rize based Recep Tayyip Erdogan University decorated Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan with an honorary doctorate degree.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the 2012-2013 academic year Erdogan said that even though he had many honorary doctorates from various universities this one is exceptional and getting it from his hometown means a lot to him. “We are in these positions not to be something but to do something. Every day (”¦) we are reviewing what we have done or which steps we couldn’t take for this country, for our people, for each and every one of our cities,” said Erdogan.
Prime Minister also stated that names of people will not survive by only giving them to the streets or universities. “Names gain a footing in people’s hearth by their achievements. People’s conscience will keep the names alive,” said Erdogan.
