Names swirl around for key positions in new Obama cabinet
Picking his new cabinet members in his second term as US president might prove just as difficult a challenge for Barack Obama as winning the election.
U.S. Ambassador to the UN Susan Rice, Democrat Senator John Kerry and National Security Advisor to the White House Tom Donilon are probably the top contenders for the top position at the State Department.
Kerry’s name is also among those who Obama reportedly considers for the highest defense position as former Under Secretary for Policy Michele Flournoy and current US Deputy Secretary of Defense Ashton Carter are the other candidates.
However, Obama is being criticized on the grounds that possible cabinet members all come from his inner circle.
