Turkey attaches great importance to Africa
Turkish President Abdullah Gul said on Thursday that Turkey attached a great importance to Africa.
The number of Turkish embassies in African countries would rise to 34 at the end of the year, Gul said at a press conference with his Congolese counterpart Denis Sassou Nguesso in the Turkish capital, Ankara.
Recalling that the two countries signed agreements in several fields, Gul said that these agreements would boost bilateral relations.
President Gul said he believed that trade volume which was nearly 100 million U.S. dollars would rise more.
Congolese President Nguesso said that Turkey was a country playing an important role in Africa and in the globe.
Nguesso said that Congo supported Turkey’s candidacy for a non-permanent seat in the UN Security Council for 2015-2016.
