Turkey aims at $1 bln exports in informatics sector
Turkish Economy Minister Zafer Caglayan said that they aimed to make 1 billion US dollars of exports in the informatics sector by the end of 2013.
"We aim to boost this figure to more than 10 billion US dollars in 2023," Caglayan told a press conference at Conrad Hotel in Istanbul on Friday.
The informatics sector was one of the sectors which had the greatest potential in trade-related services, he said.
Caglayan said that they expected to reach 250 million USD in exports of Turkish films and documentaries in 2013, and aiming to raise the figure to 1 billion US dollars in 2023.
The economy minister said that Turkish contracting sector had assumed 6,969 projects worth 237.4 billion US dollars in 100 countries since 1972, stating that the sector undertook projects in Colombia, Papua New Guinea, Somalia and Peru for the first time.
Caglayan said that Turkish contracting companies assumed 433 projects worth 26.1 billion US dollars in 2012, breaking a record.
