Erdogan attends opening of municipality building in Istanbul
While attending the opening of a municipality building in the Umraniye district of Istanbul yesterday, Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that the government was the only serious actor trying to find a peaceful solution to the Kurdish issue and would show the sense of fraternity.
“We will show our sense of brotherhood, while the opposition discusses how this peace process cannot be achieved,” Erdogan said.
Erdogan also called on the crowd to love each other, saying, “I love my Turkish brother. I love my Kurdish brother. I love my Arab, Laz, Circassian and Georgian brothers. I love all my citizens in this 76 million-strong country. I am a servant to all of you.”
Stating that terrorism could not succeed in driving a wedge between people thanks to the strong sense of brotherhood in Turkish society, Erdogan added, “Racism and tribalism are evil, following the steps of evil. Let them follow evil’s step, we will follow God’s steps. This is our difference.”
