Turkey year in China promoted in Beijing
Turkey Year in China which will be celebrated throughout the year in China was promoted at a press conference in the Chinese capital of Beijing.
Speaking at the press conference, Turkish Ambassador to Beijing Murat Salim Esenli said that relations between the two countries enjoyed a long history and underlined the frequency and contributions of high-level bilateral visits recently paid between Turkey and China.
Recalling that the 2012 Chinese Culture Year was marked in Turkey last night, Esenli said that Turkey has hosted 120,000 Chinese people within this framework and Turkey had prepared big productions to express itself better in China at the 42nd anniversary of the establishment of Turkish-Chinese diplomatic relations. Esenli also said that Turkey had the largest Chinese porcelain collection after China with a total of more than 11,000 pieces from various eras and many precious pieces of the collection would be exhibited in China during the Turkey Year.
Esenli added that important exhibits such as Anatolian Civilizations would be opened in China, Turkish films would join the International Beijing Film Festival, the Turkish dishes week and a Turkish fashion show would be organized, the Presidential Symphony Orchestra would give a series of concerts and Turkish opera artists would make a first in China in May and perform Mozart’s opera “Abduction from the Seraglio” in Beijing.
