An Istanbul appeals court overruled Fazil Say's 10-month sentence, ordered retrial.

ISTANBUL - An Istanbul appellate court ordered retrial of Turkey's internationally-acclaimed classical pianist and composer Fazil Say on charges of insulting Islam, and the court also cancelled his jail sentence citing irregularities in his initial trial procedures.

Say was sentenced earlier in April to ten months in prison for insulting Islam and offending Muslims through his Twitter posts.

The sentence was suspended for five years on probation.
