RIZE - The 5th meeting of wildlife smuggling project co-ordinated by Turkey and Spain within the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES) was held in Rize, a northeastern province at Black Sea coast in Turkey.

Speaking at the meeting, National Parks Director General Sabri Kiris described 1.5 million Euro worth project, which was put into force within the scope of Turkey's adaptation process to the European Union, as very important.

-"Chinese medicine" is deceiving-

Project Coordinator Mercedes Nunez Roman drew attention to the so-called "Chinese medicine", emphasizing that it did not have any benefit for health.

"We witness this at almost all airports in Europe. It is called Chinese medicine and produced out of turtle shell pieces. Its price can reach 15,000 Euro" said Roman.

Some of those deceiving materials captured at Turkish and Spanish customs were exhibited at the meeting.
