"Turkey is not a second class democracy," Davutoglu said
Ankara - Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmed Davutoglu reacted to US` Gezi Park statements and said Turkey was not a second class democracy by calling his counterpart John Kerry.
Reminding that similar incidents occurred in various European capitals, Davutoglu said "Many democratic countries encounter with similar protests and this is the test of the democratic systems."
Davutoglu said "Similar events in other democratic countries are perceived as `ordinary`, but what happened in Turkey is defined as `extraordinary`. Turkey is not a second class democracy."
