Turkish MFA investigates spying claims, says minister Simsek
ANKARA - Turkish Minister of Finance Mehmet Simsek on Tuesday said Turkish Foreign Ministry were examining the spying claims of the British newspaper, The Guardian.
Simsek answered the questions of journalists prior to attending Ak Party Group meeting in Parliament.
Simsek said Turkish Foreign Ministry officials were investigating the claims.
Upon being asked whether he would take personal action at court, Simsek said he would act according to the advice of ministry officials following enlightening the issue.
British newspaper, The Guardian published Monday in an article that Britain had spied on Turkish Finance Minister Mehmet Simsek in 2009 as he was in London to attend the G20 Summit.
