Davutoglu: "The good intentions of both Turkish and Greek Cypriots helped us overcome a deadlock in negotiations".

BRUSSELS - Turkey`s Foreign Minister noted Monday the constructive atmosphere between Turkey and Greece for the solution of the Cyprus issue.

"The good intentions of both Turkish and Greek Cypriots helped us overcome a deadlock in negotiations," Ahmet Davutoglu told journalists after the European Union (EU)-Turkey Political Dialogue meeting in Brussels of which the Cyprus issue was a focus.

Davutoglu said that international actors such as the EU, the United Nations and guarantor states - the United States, the United Kingdom, Turkey and Greece - display strong will to contribute to a solution.

Noting that he would meet his Greek counterpart Evangelos Venizelos, Davutoglu said: "If the negotiations kick off tomorrow (Tuesday), both of the island`s parties would pay cross visits to Ankara and Athens. This will open a new phase in negotiations."
