KARACHI, Pakistan - A police bus and patrolling van in the outskirts of the port city of Karachi targeted by an alleged suicide bomb attacker resulted in the deaths of 11 policemen and injuring 36 on Thursday.

The death toll has increased to 12 as one of the injured lost his battle for life in the hospital, Inspector General of Sindh province police, Shahid Nadeem Baluch told the media on Thursday.

He said the investigations suggest that the explosive-laden vehicle was detonated through remote control and denied initial claims by the police officials that the attack was the act of a suicide bomber.
