Turkey, Hungary have energy potential together; Turkish president

BUDAPEST - Turkey offers an alternative route for Europe to obtain its energy sources, Turkey's President Abdullah Gul told a joint press conference with Hungary's President in Budapest on Monday.
Gul held the press conference with Hungary's President Janos Ader after having bilateral meetings in Budapest on Monday.
Turkey's President emphasized that Turkey and Hungary have vast energy cooperation opportunities. Gul said that "We have seen a lot of energy potential such as nuclear, gas and other alternative sources particularly for the Caucasus and the Middle East".
Gul also pointed out that Turkey aims to reach $5 billion in terms of total trade with Hungary. He also thanked his Hungarian counterpart for preserving artifacts of Ottoman-Turkish culture.
Hungary's President Ader also discussed the importance for greater economic relations between two countries, and said "We talked with the President about how to increase the trade volume between two countries. A 30 percent increase in trade is significant," he asserted.
