AL-QUDS - Two rockets fired from violence-stricken Syria hit Israel-occupied Golan Heights on Tuesday, shortly after a visit by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
"Two rockets fired from Syria hit the Golan Heights," an army spokesman wrote on Twitter.
No casualties were reported.
Hours before the attack, Netanyahu, Defense Minister Moshe Ya’alon, and Chief of Staff Benny Gantz visited the Golan Heights to check the situation on border with Syria.
Syria has been in the throes of civil conflict since March 2011 when a peaceful uprising against President Bashar al-Assad escalated into a civil war following a violent government crackdown.
Since the conflict erupted, several stray projectiles hit the Golan Heights, which has been captured by Israel in the 1967 Middle East war.
