Turkey's State Minister Holds Talks In Uzbekistan

TASHKENT/SAMARKAND - Turkey`s state minister paid visits to Uzbek cities of Tashkent and Samarkant on Wednesday.

State Minister Said Yazicioglu first visited several historical places in Samarkand.

Proceeding to the Uzbek capital of Tashkent afterwards, Yazicioglu attended the inaugural ceremony of a computer-controlled greenhouse constructed by Turkish International Cooperation and Development Agency (TIKA).

Speaking at the ceremony, Yazicioglu said TIKA carried out a number of successful projects in Turkic republics.

He also said Turkey and Uzbekistan had strong relations that had roots deep in history.

Delivering a speech at the ceremony, Uzbek Deputy Minister of Agriculture & Water Resources Abdushukur Hannazarov said that the greenhouse project was a good example of the cooperation between Turkey and Uzbekistan.

Minister Yazicioglu and the accompanying delegation will meet Uzbek Minister of Foreign Economic Relations, Investments and Trade Elyor Ganiyev later in the day.

Yazicioglu arrived in Uzbekistan on April 21st on a 3-day official visit.
