Chinese Nobel laureate visits Turkey

ISTANBUL - The Chinese novelist, Mo Yan visited Istanbul on Thursday as part of Turkey's Year of Culture, in China.
Known as the Chinese answer to Franz Kafka, Mo is visiting Turkey as part of a project entitled “Hosting 100 Chinese intellectuals”.
He is well known for his novel Red Sorghum Clan, which was later adapted for the film Red Sorghum.
Mo, who will also visit Ankara during his trip, was invited by Turkey’s Ministry of Culture. He is set to meet Turkey’s Nobel Prize Laureate novelist, Orhan Pamuk on Friday.
