Argentina's Diego Maradona to be TV commentator for Brazil World Cup

BUENOS AIRES - Argentine football legend Diego Maradona said Monday that he has agreed to be a commentator for the Brazil World Cup in June.

"I just signed the most emotional contract of my career," Maradona said in a taped interview from Dubai, where he lives after a two-year stint of managing the Al Wasl Football Club.

Maradona said he will be a commentator for Telesur, a pan-Latin American television network based in Caracas.

"It is going to be football with politics," Maradona said. "This is what I like the most."

Maradona made his first appearance as a commentator for the 1994 World Cup in the United States, after he was kicked out of the competition as a player for failing an anti-doping test.
