CAIRO – Prime Minister-designate Ibrahim Mehleb on Friday said he had wrapped up the lineup of his new government.
"I finished forming the whole cabinet," Mehleb told reporters as he left his office in downtown Cairo on Friday.
He did not, however, indicate when the new cabinet ministers would be sworn in.
According to cabinet sources, Mehleb has settled on 26 ministers, including 17 from the previous government, which abruptly tendered its collective resignation last week.
The sources added that Mehleb was still undecided as to who should take up the health and justice portfolios, said.
The new cabinet is likely to be sworn in on Saturday morning, the sources said.
On Tuesday, Mehleb was tasked by interim President Adly Mansour with naming and heading up a new cabinet following the resignation of outgoing prime minister Hazem al-Beblawi.
