Athletes from around the world compete against each other in the 9th Runtalya Marathon, held on the Mediterranean coast of Turkey
ANTALYA – Thousands of athletes from 36 countries gathered in Antalya, a city on the Mediterranean coast of southwestern Turkey, for the 9th Runtalya Marathon on Sunday.
The marathon, attended by 4,985 runners this year, began with disabled athletes competing against each other.
A 16-kilometer run, followed by a 21-kilometer half marathon was launched before the start of the 42-mile marathon, where 100 of the athletes are of Turkish origin.
The top three athletes from the men and women’s category will receive the prize of one week’s holiday. The disabled athletes who participated in the contest will be rewarded with medals and trophies.
