CAIRO – A home-made bomb exploded near a bridge west of Cairo Tuesday evening, Egypt's Interior Ministry said.
In a statement, the ministry said that the bomb went off near the University Bridge in Giza, west of Cairo.
No casualties were reported.
Two vehicles sustained minor damage in the blast, the ministry said.
The University Bridge is close to the Giza Security Directorate and the Saudi embassy.
Egypt has been shaken by a flurry of attacks in recent months following the July 3 ouster of elected president Mohamed Morsi by the military.
