Hamas' Al-Qassam Brigades claim to hold Israel drone

GAZA CITY – The Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Palestinian resistance group Hamas, announced on Tuesday that it had seized an Israeli drone that crashed in the southern Gaza Strip.

"Al-Qassam Brigades fighters… have seized an [Israeli drone] in southern Gaza," read a Tuesday statement issued by the group.

The Israeli military announced earlier Tuesday that one of its unmanned aircraft had crashed in the southern Gaza Strip due to a technical malfunction.

On the same day, the brigades posted a video on its website showing one of the group's masked fighters displaying the diminutive aircraft.

The announcement followed an Israeli airstrike in the southern Gaza Strip that killed three members of the Al-Quds Brigades, the military arm of the Islamic Jihad group.
