BAGHDAD – Three Iraqis were killed and 12 others injured Tuesday in a bomb blast at a mosque in the northern city of Baqubah, a security source said.
Two explosive devices exploded as worshippers left the Salman al-Farsi mosque after the Aisha (night) prayer, the source told Anadolu Agency.
A medical source confirmed that three people were killed in the attack.
Mosques in the northern Diyala province have been the target of militant attacks in recent months.
Iraq has seen an uptick in violence in recent months. Although most attacks go unclaimed, Iraqi authorities usually point the finger at Al-Qaeda-linked militants.
